Good interns are often rewarded with permanent job offers, especially if you've done all the things that make an intern particularly valuable, like:
- Understanding and following the company procedures and culture
- Treated the internship like it was a real job
- Networking with others in the company
- Showing you're eager to help the company
At the end of any internship, it's a good idea to write a thank-you letter to your boss and to the human resources department expressing your appreciation for the opportunity you were given to learn and grow your skills. You don't want to go overboard, but just sincerely note that you're grateful for the experience and are willing to be associated with the company in the long run. This letter will likely go in your personnel file, ensuring the company that you could be interested in a full-time position and would be a valuable addition to the staff because of the knowledge you gained during your internship.
