SpaceX wants exceptional people, and education plays an important part. For some candidates, it’s where they went to school. For others like you, it’s what they did while in school. And for everyone wanting to join SpaceX, it's how you cultivate the life of the mind outside the classroom.
Demonstrate that you made the most of the opportunities that were available at the school you attended. Illustrate that you rose to the top, distinguished yourself there, and have plenty of room to climb even higher. Give examples of how you created opportunities for yourself and sought out ways to make exceptional things happen in the educational environment that you were in. Leave a clear impression that you are just as competitive but also just as collaborative as any SpaceX candidate.
In short, SpaceX knows that exceptional people come from all kinds of backgrounds, some more common than others. A degree from a top engineering school is more common. Show that your formula for success, though less common, is no less exceptional.

Most of their engineering positions require a minimum of a bachelor's degree in an engineering field, though some prefer a master's degree. Some require no previous work experience, while others require from one to five years of experience in the field. They also offer a variety of internship opportunities, most of which request applicants who have a 3.5 GPA or better.
While companies want to know applicants have a strong educational background, a solid resume that showcases your skills and abilities increases your chances of acquiring any job. Here are a few key points to keep in mind.
• It's important to include people skills like communication, teamwork, leadership, time management, and organization.
• Show your ability to solve problems using real examples from previous jobs
• Replace the "objective" section, which focuses on what you want from the company, with a "professional summary" that focuses on what you offer the company.
