Dear Ms. Gutierrez,
When I read the advertisement for the Youth Advocate position at the Boys and Girls Club, I knew I had to respond. I am highly compassionate and have a strong understanding of the issues modern adolescents and preteens face. Along with six years of experience working as a youth advocate, I have a Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work.
During inner-city after school gatherings at my current work, I provide fun and wholesome activities in a safe environment. I am always available to the kids as a strong listener. I provide advice and a shoulder to them when they need one along with assistance in accessing needed community resources.
It can be tough to witness what some of these kids face on a daily basis. I have connected kids with food resources, clothing and treatment for drug addictions. I am highly compassionate. I strongly believe that the youth of today will shape tomorrow’s world and we must help them.
I would love to join the Boys and Girls Club as a Youth Advocate. I will bring energy, patience and strong case management skills along with me to the organization. I am available by telephone to schedule an interview and await your call.
Sincerely,
Maeve Guerra
