After an extended hiatus from an almost 20 year career in bedside hospital nursing, I am looking to rejoin the workforce in a different capacity. I am a 49 year old wife of 25 years and mother to two adult sons. I am a voracious reader that loves to cook and bake. My family are active members of St. James Community Church, acting as leaders in their small group bible study ministry.
-Perform physical assessments, report findings and treat patients per physician's orders.
-Monitor all aspects of each resident's wound care, including diet and physical activity in regards to wound prevention/care.
-Treat wounds ranging from simple lacerations to post surgical wounds to severe pressure induced lesions.

-Consult and coordinate with healthcare team members to assess, plan, implement and evaluate resident care plans on a weekly basis.
-Ensure needed equipment and supplies are ordered and stock is maintained.
-As House Supervisor, directed less skilled nursing and healthcare personnel in this 171 bed nursing home. On weekends/holidays served as Administrator in lieu of the Director of Nurses presence.
-Made twice daily rounds to approximately 20 residents in the Assisted Living portion of facility for glucose readings and medication pass.
-Assess nature and extent of illness or injury to establish and prioritize treatment via head-to-toe assessment.
-Administer medications according to the state nursing boards standards of care , observe patients' reactions, consulting with physicians for modification of prescriptions as needed.
-Document data related to patients' care including assessment results, interventions, medications and treatments following company protocol and nursing care plans.
-Discuss illness and treatment plan with patients and caregivers following HIPPA protocol.
-Collaborate with patients/caregivers to plan for future health care needs including referrals for continued DME, outpatient care.

-Inspect equipment to ensure emergency readiness and compliance to access and safety regulations.
-Developed instructional materials and conducted in-services and community based educational programs.
-Trained as a Superuser for the electronic medical record program, Point of Care.
-Served as preceptor to new hires.
EMERGENCY DEPARTMENT NURSE:
-Triage incoming patients to determine the needed level of care.
-Collaborate with ER physician and nursing/allied health team the treatment plan.
-Maintain accurate documentation patient's assessment and treatment plan.
-Maintain competency in operating various medical equipment.
-Provide physicians with assistance during treatment procedures.
