I have worked for MnDot highway maintenance for 3 1/2 years. I have a class "A" CDL with air brakes, tanker, and doubles / triples endorsements. I am MnDot certified in tandem, level 2, 4 wheel articulating loader and snowblower, skid steer loader, tow plow, powered industrial truck, chainsaw, oxy-acetylene torch, and tractor with flail mowers as well as boom mower certified. I have intermittently supervised crew as well as been lead worker in S&I and mentored crew in the Chaska Subarea for the last 5 months in several areas including, plowing snow, sanding, ice control and removal along with post storm cleanup operations, including proper traffic control. I've also been responsible for stock piling, testing, and inventory of salt and liquid ice control products. Supervised operations of roadway surface bituminous patching, as well as restoring gravel shoulders, guard rail repair, high tension cable repair, fence repair, and other roadside safety feature repairs, all while providing proper traffic control to insure work zone safety. Have reported and repaired shoulder, and slope or drainage problems or hazards. Cleaned drains culverts and other structures. Maintain a clear line of sight along highways by controlling vegetation. Maintain, operate, and make minor repairs to equipment, including properly inspecting and cleaning of equipment. Will soon be directing spring sweeping operation, that will include proper traffic control to insure work zone safety. I have worked in TAMS and can locate through Gopher 1 website. Coordinate with adopt a highway crews for locations, proper ppe, bags, and removal of bags.
I started at MnDot August 28th as a Transportation Generalist in the Chaska Subarea. I came to MnDot with a class "A" CDL, and 22 years of accident free commercial motor vehicle experience. I quickly attained all of the remaining required MnDot certifications, as well as many others including level 2 4 wheel articulating loader, skid steer loader, single axle, tandem axle, powered industrial truck, chainsaw, oxy-acetylene torch, tractor with flails, boom mower, small tool, flagger training. Most recently, I have been blower, and tow plow certified also. I have worked for one summer on night mill and patch crew at Maryland truck station and learned several different operations in the repair of bituminous surfaces. I also worked for one summer at Golden Valley sign shop, where I spent most of summer on HBS4 crew painting markings on highways, turn lanes, and crosswalks. I also spent some time on thermal crew, marking pavement as well. I patch asphalt, repair fence, repair high tension cable, repair guardrail, pick trash, mowing ditches, and maintaining a clear line of sight along the highway by controlling vegetation. I provide proper traffic control to insure work zone safety.
I owned, operated, and maintained a class 8, tandem axle tractor, that I subcontracted to an local intermodal company. My primary function was to take an assigned load from dispatch, procure the proper intermodal equipment, doing a comprehensive safety inspection to identify potential safety hazards, then use the safety compliant equipment to complete the load.
