I am a mature, motivated and resilient woman. I enjoy interacting with people, and serving them in any way that I can. I am open to opportunities that can enable my dream of making a difference in people's lives a reality. I finished my Bachelors of Arts and Postgraduate diploma in international relations and/or politics in 2019, I am currently undertaking my master's degree in Art as a distant student. The 'graduate policy analyst' opportunity will enhance my knowledge and experience, personal development, and giving back to the community. I can work well under pressure and I am keen to learn. Being a Burundian-Kenyan-Kiwi, I have wide-ranging cultural knowledge and experiences that can develop and equip the workforce.
On Sundays, I volunteer to take, document and process offerings or donations to theChurches's world visions or communities. This opportunity continues to enhance my customer services skills (engaging and assisting with people), and computer skills (organising and filling documents online).
Working at Otto's Mediterranean Kitchen taught me vital customer services skills, and preparing meals. My duties included the following;
From August 2018 to March 2019, I volunteered at Transformation Academy, located at 48 Esmonde road, Takapuna, 0622, Auckland. My duty as an Administration assistant to CEO included a variety of clerical and administrative tasks. Including answering telephones, arranging meetings and travel, and managing schedules, organising and preparing files and documents. Because TA was considering to expanded its services to Samoa, my duties expanded to researching for potential facilities in Apia, and communicating with the Samoan Deputy Prime Minister and the Ministry of Education, Sports, and Culture. Additionally, I was in charge of applying for four grants application, two of which were successful.
St John Opportunity Shop located in Wairau Park (Glenfield), Auckland, I started volunteering there in late 2015 till early 2017. My role involved pricing, managing donations, and placing possessions ready for sales. My position did not include a primary responsibility, instead, I was in charge of all sort of responsibilities. Even though I was doing a variety of duties, I particularly enjoyed interacting with customers and helping them as it brings me joy when I assist people.
During my Bachelor of Arts, I majored in International Relations and/or Politics, and History. Within my Postgraduate studies, I specialised in international relations, analysing ethnic conflicts, political management and terrorism, my dissertation particularly focused on the geopolitical Strategic interests of Iran and Russia in the Syrian conflict. For my masters, I am examining the Democratic Republic of Congo conflict using various ethnic conflict theories. Undertaking postgraduate studies has particularly helped me in advancing not just knowledge, but also analytical, communication, and research skills that are essential in various different occupations.
