I am a dedicated team leader and law enforcement professional extensively trained in police operations, security, and assisting crime victims throughout the critical stages of the criminal justice process. I am dedicated to saving lives, decreasing crime rates, increasing community safety, and providing support and assistance to victims of crimes. I have successfully obtained a bachelor's degree in criminal justice, and I am currently working on a master's degree in criminal justice and law enforcement administration. The Crime Scene Investigation (CSI) certifications I obtained through my undergraduate university allowed for me to be hand selected to be an Investigator for the Drug Suppressions Team (DST) and assist the Special Victims Unit (SVU) for the Army Criminal Investigations Division (CID). My time in the service allowed for me obtain several years of experience in planning and supervising investigations, processing crime scenes, collecting evidence, and conducting both victim interviews and criminal interrogations. I discovered my passion for helping victims of crime and my desire to continue my career in criminal justice while I worked with the SVU and as a Victim Technician III for the Victim Services Unit (VSU) for the Colorado Department of Corrections (CDOC). In both the SVU and VSU, I provided professional and comprehensive advocacy services to victims and survivors who were sexually harassed and sexually assaulted. I also provided victims with information about community services such as crisis intervention services, victim assistance resources, legal resources, mental health services, applicable protection services, and any other support services that they may have needed. Additionally, I accompanied victims and provided support in securing a safe shelter, medical treatment, court hearings, protective orders, transportation, financial services, and follow-up assistance.
