  • Appointed by President Barack Obama as the chief federal law enforcement officer for the District of Massachusetts.
  • Directed an office of 250+ attorneys and staff located in Boston, Worcester and Springfield.  Established priorities focused on national security, financial and securities fraud, healthcare fraud, cyber crime, public corruption, civil rights and violent crime.
  • Actively managed and resolved a wide variety of high profile and complex civil and criminal cases, including the investigation and prosecution of the Boston Marathon bomber, infamous gangster James "Whitey" Bulger, and global healthcare companies GlaxoSmithKline, Merck and Johnson & Johnson.
  • Managed crisis situations, providing leadership and direction in conflict situations and facilitated the decision-making process between law enforcement partners, political leaders and community representatives.

    Part of a 6-member "October Surprise" team which investigated allegations of deal-making by the Reagan/Bush 1980 Campaign to delay the  release of American hostages by Iran, to undermine the election of then President Jimmy Carter.  Reviewed documents, interviewed witnesses, conducted depositions in closed hearings before the Senate Committee and wrote portions of final report.

    Participated in short-term investigation involving allegations of sexual harassment by female sports reporter against several players of the New England Patriots.  Conducted numerous interviews of victim and witnesses, reviewed documents and wrote portions of final report.
