Work History
10/2011 to 09/2012 Transportation Aide Signature Healthcare | Liberty, , The position I was in mainly consisted of making sure that the special needs adults and children were transported in a safe manor. I had to make sure I knew which individuals were riding with us that day and which ones weren't and keep a daily log of who rode with and who didn't on each day of the week. We would have to follow every students IEP and make sure that we were extremely educated on the disabilities of the children knowing that a students well being could change in seconds due to their illnesses  As transportation aides, we would encounter several different situation in which we would have to react quickly and appropriately because of  limited space and the fact that we are mostly moving the whole way. We were given a few trainings that helped us defend ourselves and keep the student safe in hostel situations. The trainings mostly consisted of ways to talk to a person in a severely angry state of mind, how to properly restrain someone if it got to that point, how us as employees should cope with stressful situations such as violence, or profanity towards us or others, and there were trainings on CPR/AED.
10/2011 to 09/2012 Recess Aide Burkett Restaurant Equipment | Perrysburg, ,

As a recess aide my responsibilities were basically to keep and eye on the 5th and 6th graders at mackinaw trail middle school during lunch time.  During lunch we would wipe the tables, dismiss the students to go outside, make sure there is no horseplay in the cafeteria, etc. After lunch we would go outside where we would keep and eye on the playground, making sure everyone is playing nice. There were times that we had to respond quickly if a student got sick or injured on the playground. When a student got injured we took them inside, made sure they got the appropriate care, and made sure all needed paperwork is filled out for the students file.

2013 to 10/2013 custodian Enviro-Clean | City, , I was the day custodian at Franklin Elementary. As the custodian, I maintained a clean, healthy, and safe work environment. I helped other staff members around the building at their convenience if it was within my reach. I obtained supplies to make sure all dispensers such as hand sanitizer and hand soap were re-filled daily. I had to follow safe-lifting techniques when it came to restocking and getting heavy items off higher surfaces, or when lifting heavy bags of trash. I assisted the aides and other staff during lunch time with the students and keeping the eating area sanitary and maintained. I did monthly and weekly inspections of the playground. kept the sidewalks shoveled and salted during the winter season.
08/2013 to Current Recess/Classroom Aide CAPS | City, STATE,

During the day they have a pre-school program with children ages 3-4. I mostly go in and relieve aides for their break times. I make sure that the lunch gets to the building. Watch the children while they are outside. Load and unload buses.

During the evening I do clubhouse which is a daycare provider through CAPS. I ride the bus with the kids from Franklin Elementary to Clubhouse. I do attendance and make sure every child is accounted for. I walk the kids down so they can hang up their coats, backpacks, etc. We walk back down to the bathroom so they can all line up to wash their hands, after that we go to the classroom and have snack which the other clubhouse aide would have provided and gotten ready prior to our arrival. Then we get all of our outside items on and go outside for a minimum of 30 minutes (unless its raining or below zero) followed by indoor activity. Parents will come in on and off to pick up their children and we have to make sure we know who they are leaving with. When all the kids are gone the other aide and I will then disinfect the room, do the dishes, turn everything off, and then secure the building.
