Terminal ManagerJan 2011 to Current Cowan Systems, LLC － Baltimore, MD
Transportation SupervisorJun 2009 to Dec 2010 Mobile Mini, Inc － Baltimore, MD
As the transportation supervisor of the Baltimore Branch of Mobile Mini, Inc, I managed six drivers daily ensuring they were making timely deliveries and pick-ups of MMI's unique storage units.
I was responsible for all routing, dispatch, driver scheduling and weekly safety meetings to ensure the drivers were current with their DOT qualifications, logs and trip reports.
I was similarly responsible for keeping all branch equipment up to FMCSR and DOT regulations.
With these responsibilities billing, customer service, and some clerical tasks were also a daily requirement.
Along with our driver core, I was very involved with our sales personnel and manufacturing staff.
Constant communication with the sales team and the manufacturing staff was crucial to ensure the correct units and offices were available in time to fit it in with requested customer timeframe.
There was very minimal promotional opportunities within the company and I knew I was ready to further my career in the transportation industry.
Human Resources/Transportation SupervisorDec 2007 to Jun 2009 MKM Logistics － Abingdon, MD
In little more then a year with this company my role changed from secretary to head of Safety and Human Resources.
Then finally took on the roll transportation supervisor in conjunction with all HR accountabilities.
In my starting role I was responsible for all general office duties as well as tracking shipments, resolving shipping discrepancies and locating miss-shipped freight.
In the HR and Safety role, I oversaw all hiring, background checks, pre-employment and random drug screens, along with disciplinary actions for all warehouse and driver personnel.
Completing weekly temporary employee payroll, administrative and management payroll and driver payroll was correspondingly one of my job duties.
I worked very closely with the transportation manager and DOT compliance supervisor to make sure the drivers were current with their DOT qualifications, logs and trip reports.
This company utilized a lot of outside labor to supplement surges in the shipping volumes so I was tasked to work with lease labor company managers and employees to ensure the company could provide at any time the manpower our customer required.
With the role of Transportation Supervisor I was then solely responsible for keeping all drivers and equipment up to FMCSR and DOT regulations.
In order to keep all equipment up to regulation standards I implemented a weekly report for all equipment that kept us on track with all preventative maintenance schedules and yearly federal inspections.
I oversaw and tracked all road side calls, comchecks and parts bought by this terminal.
I was in constant contact with warehouse leads to ensure the safety, productivity, and well-being of our warehouse employees making sure all OSHA regulations were enforced.
My time at this company encouraged strong communication, organizational skills and time management to help me better manage my drivers, warehouse personnel and customer relations.
Dispatcher and Office ManagerNov 2007 to Dec 2007 Noble Logistics | Baltimore － Baltimore, MD
In this position, I was responsible for dispatching drivers to provide medicines for local nursing homes and hospitals.
We dispatched from our pharmacy warehouse in Hunt Valley and our office in Baltimore.
I was responsible for interviewing new hires and filling out the post hire contracts on our companies independent contractors.
I was also responsible for all general office duties.
Unfortunately, the commute to this job was just too much for me and I was alerted to the opening at MKM so, I decided to leave this company.
Scheduling CoordinatorSep 2005 to Oct 2006 BH Trucking, Inc － Aberdeen, MD
I began my career at BH trucking as an office clerk.
I collated BOLs, manifests and credit memos; as well as general office duties such as filling, faxing, and answering multi-lined phones.
I was then given more responsibility by creating reports detailing our driver's routes, delivery times and delays.
Also tracking and inserting credits in our system.
Eventually getting promoted to dispatcher and then scheduling coordinator.
I scheduled and confirmed 105 drivers daily for their routes and backhauls as well as re-routing trips to better service our customer.
As a dispatcher, I kept open lines of communication with all drivers, making sure they met our companies expectations of their job performance and keeping them on tract with all current DOT and OSHA requirements.
As part of this job it was my responsibility to keep all the trucks in good running condition and up to DOT standards, also keeping track of and organizing repairs for all equipment.
Keeping the working environment as stress free and organized was my daily goal.
Unfortunately I had unforeseen family complications out of state and had to resign from my position.
Inbound Call CenterSep 2004 to Aug 2005 Custom Direct, LLC － Joppa, MD
This company was actually thirteen companies in one.
We took calls for companies such as check gallery and artistic checks.
They are run under the same main company- Custom Direct.
I placed first time orders, reorders, handled customer complaints and fixed or edited existing orders.
I answered multi-lined phones as a customer service representative and received numerous one hundred percent quality assurance awards.
It was also part of the job to track our shipped items using the DLS on line tracking web site.
I resigned from this position when I was offered a higher paying position at my next employer.
Graphic Designer/ Office ManagerJul 2002 to Sep 2004 North Star Printing － White Marsh, MD
North Star Printing is a family owned and operated printing company.
I enjoyed this job because it coincided with my high school education in the graphic design and communications field.
I got to design business cards, letterhead, brochures, newsletters and many other printed products.
I also ran the office, making sales calls and handling customer concerns and complaints.
I spent my days designing, meeting with customers, filing, faxing, editing, plate-making, ordering supplies, using bindery and finishing techniques and just general upkeep of the print shop.
Unfortunately this was a very small company and they could no longer afford to pay me so, I had to move on.
I still keep in contact with the owners and they now do very little production or design.
