Assisted Albany Middle School Teacher Abigail Skrivan during multiple sessions of local children's writing class. Each program meets around 6-8 times over the span of 4 weeks and an anthology of all of the written work that children create is given out at the end of the course.
I spent several months creating a personal project for the Journalism BRIDGE track. I interviewed 5 artists from the Berkeley Repertory Theater for my project, I edited sound using ProTools, and I participated in Vox Pop, where I interviewed several people on the street about their use of fashion and self-expression.
I spent 10 weeks learning the basics of Journalism, Video and Photography, Graphic Design, and Music Production. Over the course of my time in this program, I created several written pieces(a commentary and a newscast), a short film, a 7-frame animation, and a 16-measure beat. After graduating from CORE, I will spend 3 months studying Journalism for their BRIDGE program and then I will apply for an internship to help teach their Journalism track.
I attended a week-long program called the Youth Empowerment Institute hosted by students/graduates of the UC Santa Cruz Everett Program. The program is dedicated to helping high school-aged womxn of color navigate technology and applying for jobs/college.
During my Summer Pre-College program at The Academy of Art University, I co-wrote the script for the final mock-news report presentation for my Digital Storytelling class, and I created a 10 minute podcast about embracing my Latinx background for my Podcast Creation class.
