After graduating from college in 2016, I have been working as a residential assistant recognized for mentoring, tutoring and advising a group of over fifteen residents for a year and a half on the Navajo reservation. However, I have always been intrigued by the career of a professional lineman. My passion to become a Lineman started when my father retired as a Journeyman lineman for the City of Farmington.
I am the perfect fit for this position because I am taking the necessary steps to enter the pre-apprentice Lineman program. I have obtained my CDL permit and gained some general knowledge of electrical principles. During the last months of preparation, I have been studying the EEI CAST test and preparing myself physically.
I chose APS because of the opportunity it allows for entry-level positions and on the job training. With family and friends working at APS I know this company cares about their employees. What I can bring to the APS team is a teachable, committed, safe, and team player attitude. I believe I have the drive and perseverance to overcome the challenges and goals to become a lineman. If given the opportunity, I would love to be part of the APS family and team.
I will be receiving my CDL A License by 1/31/2019
