I have always expressed a passion for taking care of others medically and incorporating that in my passion for sports. I am a natural caretaker and leader, thus I am very responsible and dependable. I take pride in my interests because they bring me peace and happiness, so studying related courses will get me closer to who I aspire to become. In high school, I have taken a series of science courses including anatomy and physiology, AP psychology, and AP Chemistry all to help build my knowledge on the physical and mental components of the human body. With that knowledge, I apply it to my current involvement in sports both medically and organizationally.
I leap at the opportunity to learn about aspects of health sciences that can aid me in my future in athletic training and general sports medicine. I am an honor roll student and I value my academics and coursework to my best ability. Currently, I am working alongside student voice committee (SVC) to advocate for students within the LGBTQ+ community and creating presentations to educate teachers/administration/staff on the different aspects of gender and how to properly respect a fellow person's identity so they may feel safe and welcomed to ensure a great learning and social environment within the school. It is so important to me to advocate for those who may be afraid to speak out, for I am graduating soon and I want to leave my high school a better, improved place for the students who come after me.
I am honored to walk this tedious, yet miraculous journey towards my career and adulthood and I am ready to make a change and show younger girls of color that they can do it too!
I do stats sheets, scorebook, and the score clock.
I train/vet younger students to be managers as the years progress; I teach them the basics of managing and how to build relationships with the people they will be working with so they will not only just working with each other, but grow a passion for it as much as I do. I balance out going to and working both girls and boy basketball games while training new managers how a game day and practice day works. I work closely with administration and the athletic director to ensure the stability and effectiveness of the entire basketball program.
I received a trophy for teamwork as head manager of the girls and boys basketball teams.
