  • Worked with Kansas State University Extension specialist to update the Nutrient Management standard, specification and statement of work.
  • Working with Dr. Nathan Nelson to update the Kansas Phosphorous Assessment.
  • Updated Conservation Crop Rotation, Contour Farming, Contour Buffer Strips, Filter Strip, Mulching, Strip Cropping, Nutrient Management, Feed Management, Integrated Pest Management, Surface Roughening, Cover Crop, Cross Wind Trap Strips, Herbaceous Wind Barriers and Cross Wind Ridges .
  • Worked with Kansas State University Extension specialists, consultants and industry representatives to develop and deliver a short course on precision agriculture technology.
  • Collaborated with the state extension nutrient management specialist in a correlation and validation study of the Haney Soil Health test. I secured four site locations for the study. Provided NDVI values for the corn portion of the study.
  • Organized a Soil Health Coalition meeting. The meeting covered two days with 11 presenters and two facilitated group discussions. There were 15 entities represented and 48 people attended the meeting.
  • Working with the extension weed specialist, enJessicaologist and plant pathologists to develop integrated pest management guide sheets for the major crops in Kansas.
  • Worked with Kansas State University faculty on an Agronomy Tech Note that provided guidance to field staffs on planting cover crops in western Kansas.
  • Collaborated with Dr. Gerard Kluitenberg from Kansas State University on field testing of bulk density sampling equipment designed by Dr. Kluitenberg. The equipment has been manufactured and deployed to field staffs of the Northern Great Plains Soil Survey Regional Office (SSR5).
  • Met with producer, Dr. Nathan Nelson and Chad Remley (SSR5 leader) on deploying a paired watershed study.
  • Developed thirty three state supplements for the Conservation Security Program (CSP). These supplements provided additional guidance to area and field staffs on criteria and documentation to certify the application of the enhancement.

  • I was responsible for the implementation of nutrient management practice on 56 EQIP contracts covering 13,236 acres with $660,755 in contract payments.
  • Assisted in the development and implementation of 40 CSP contracts covering 30,440 acres with $2,031,221 in financial assistance.
  • Worked with the Riley County Conservation District and the State Conservation Commission to develop a cover crop seeding trial and soil health management meeting. The meeting was attended by 54 landowners, growers, extension, state entities, NRCS employees and university students and professors.

Certificate of merit for work with the Kingman county conservation in the purchase and deployment of the first personal computer in Kansas. Awarded in 1986.
