• Admissions, Assessments, and application of care plans
• Operate and ensure proper function of ventilators, monitors and other types of medical equipment
• IV administration, titration and management of medications such as: Terbutaline, Precedex, Fentanyl, Midazolam, Nimbex, Heparin, Propofol, Dilaudid, Vasopressors, etc.
• Care of CVL, PICC's, arterial lines, access andmanage ports, and placement of PIV lines
• Placement of NG/OG tubes and Foley catheters
• Educate families on patient conditions, treatments, and provide support to the best of my ability
• Care of patients on sedation and paralytic drips, intubated, trached, seizure, psychiatric, and overdosed patients. VP shunts, respiratory distress, etc
• Provide peer support in critical situations and critical care patients in the form of assisting with care, medication administration, bolus of critical drips, and dual sign off of controlled substances
• Participate in rapid response and code situations as an active team member in the form of documentation, compressions, management of airway, pulling of critical drugs, and administration
• Assist physicians in procedures such as patient intubation, central and arterial lines placement, lumbar puncture, and rapid response situations
• Collect blood samples, ordering, and interpreting diagnostic tests and lab results
30 Hours/Week
• Delivers information regarding care, medications to patients, and caregivers in comprehendible terminology
• Observe strict safety measures, including checking medication dosages before administration to patients
• Respond to emergency situations with speed, expertise, and pragmatic approach to provide optimal care, support, and live-saving interventions
• Conducts assessments and diagnostic tests to provide physician with important patient health information used to create focused treatment plans and manage ongoing care
• Aid patients and families feel comfortable during challenging and stressful situations, promoting recovery and reducing compliance issues
• Administer scheduled medications and therapies intravenously, rectally, orally, subcutaneously, and via intramuscular injections
• Evaluates and adjust life support equipment, tubing, and peripheral devices providing critical assistance to fragile patients
• Monitor patients condition, including interpreting and tracking EKG readings, irregular telemetry readings, and updating team members on changes in stability or acuity
• Performs blood transfusions and IV infusions
• Provides skilled, timely, and level-headed emergency response to critically-ill patients
28 Hours/Week
• Document patients information obtained from interviews and prepare patients for surgical procedures
• Assist the physician in the process of administering general and local anesthesia
• Verify patient information such as medical history, medications, and labs to ensure licensed staff is aware of all relevant health factors
• Assist the team in maintaining and creating a comfortable safe environment for the patient, and observing the team from a wide perspective
• Perform accurate recording, interpretation, and response to the stream of data that is present during the course of operation
• Verify procedures, for the correct patient, at the correct site
• Conduct a time-out immediately before starting the invasive procedure or making the incision
• Observe surgeon's body language, movements, and demeanor during operations to efficiently anticipate needs
• Prepare OR by ensuring it met asepsis standards, as well as setting out, organizing, counting all tools, and equipment necessary for each procedure
• Accurately document all elements of nursing assessment, including treatment, medications and IV administered, discharge instructions, and follow-up care
• Collect blood, tissue and other laboratory specimens and prepared it for lab testing
• Implement interventions, including medication and IV administration, catheter insertion and airway management
• Provide direct patient care, stabilize patients and determine next course of action
