Highly dedicated Prince George County Law Enforcement Officer currently assigned as a Detective in the Special Investigations Unit. I have almost 12 years of law enforcement experience and eight of those years proudly serving the citizens of Prince George County. Investigated criminal matters to include but not limited to narcotic possession and distribution offenses, sex offenses, shootings, homicides, burglaries, robberies, aggravated assaults, financial exploitation, and other felony crimes. Secured crime scenes and photographed, collected and packaged evidence. Conducted interviews with offenders, witnesses, suspects, victims, and informants. Wrote and maintained police reports, report supplements, and case files, as well as confidential informant documents. Conducted surveillance and plain clothes/undercover operations for a variety of criminal matters in high crime areas in efforts to reduce crime and solve problems. Conducted and supervised controlled buy operations of narcotics and firearms through the use of confidential informants. Documented and maintained department issued U.S. currency for controlled buy operations and paid informant work. Managed confidential informants and their activities. Wrote and executed search warrants for residences, documents, vehicles, cell phones, and DNA. Coordinated specialized interviews for juvenile victims involved in sex offenses. Documented and sent narcotics and other evidence to the VA State Lab for proper analysis for criminal prosecution purposes. Supervised and trained newly hired Officers when assigned to the Detective Division for FTO purposes. Testified in court for misdemeanor and felony court cases.
Proactively patrolled assigned areas of Prince George County by operating a patrol vehicle. Performed various duties of a uniformed law enforcement officer to include, but not limited to, neighborhood and business checks, traffic enforcement, investigating traffic accidents, directing traffic, issuing warnings and summonses, and enforcement of federal laws, state laws, and local ordinances. Responded to emergency and non-emergency calls for service. Field trained and supervised newly hired officers for our Department. Maintained records and daily observation reports for recruit officers in field training. Evaluated reports submitted by recruit officers. Provided guidance, scheduling, and training to newly hired officers. Secured and investigated crime scenes. Photographed, collected, and packaged evidence on crime scenes. Wrote police reports, use of force reports, pursuit reports, and maintained records for court proceedings. Managed our Department's Police Therapy K9 program and the K9. Proactive member of our Marine Unit as a coxswain, and member of our Special Response Team. Responsible for being called out after hours for both specialized units. Responsible for writing "After Action Reports" for our Marine Unit call outs. Instructed at Crater Criminal Justice Training Academy as a certified General Instructor. Participated in community policing events.
