Direct responsibility for over $110M in transportation spend, vendor management, contract negotiations, customs compliance and corporate security. General management of a staff five regional directors and and indirect staff over 300 transportation and trade compliance specialist at the plant level.
General management of 21 contract logistics and private fleet operations and seven full service equipment leasing, rental and fleet maintenance facilities. Responsibilities included client management, P&L management, sales management, operations oversight, labor relations and contract negotiations. Headed an organization of 28 operations managers, five sales managers and over 500 drivers and mechanics. Contract logistics operations included direct grocery store delivery, liquid gases, building materials, furniture delivery, corrugated packaging, dry and liquid bulk chemicals.
Provided leadership of three business units.
Managing Director - SeaLand Logistics, a third party logistics company providing contract services for retail, industrial customers and U.S. Government Agencies.
Successfully led the Kuwait Emergency Recovery Program moving $6B in cargo from the U.S. and the UK to Kuwait for recovery after the first Gulf War.

Logistics management for the Nuclear Threat Reduction Treaty which moved over $700M in equipment and supplies to the Former Soviet Union to monitor and/or destroy Russian Nuclear weapons.
President - Bertling Logistics , a project logistics joint venture 50% owned by SeaLand Logistics. Primarily focused on oil, gas and heavy industrial projects in the the middle east, the former Soviet Union and Asia.
Vice President and General Manager - Buyers Air Cargo, an airfreight forwarder based in Hong Kong servicing the Hong Kong to North America markets with heavy emphasis on retail customers in the fashion and after market automotive sectors.
Responsible for daily operations of 900 tractor, 1,500 driver FTL company primarily supporting JIT service for automotive assembly plants and consumer products manufactures. General management of fleet operations, customer service and over the road maintenance. Directly responsible for operations P&L. Designed and implemented milk run operations for GM assembly plants and quick turn services to support repair and service operations.
