My job consist of shampooing, coloring, cutting, braiding, relaxing, and styling clients hair, providing Polite customer service is included but not limited to listening to the client's request of services and applying them properly, answering the telephone, scheduling appointments, and practicing sanitation though out the shop. I also do promotion and advertising to achieve a successful career and professional atmosphere in the salon.
My client base was strong and very highly recommended. I would always attend classes to further my knowledge on the new styles and trends.
I would do consultations for new clients on how I would start the process of making each clients hair as healthy as possible including home regiments on keeping styles after care at home. When the new operators would start working I would train them on how to apply proper chemical service and shaping skills, I would train them on many styles, products and techniques to use. My experience with working on the "State Board of Licensing Department" was a plus. By testing the new cosmetologist for there up and coming license made me better at observing my own work in the salon and the training of my co-workers and practitioners as a manager... Problem solving was an experience that I was applauded for. Being able to fix other people's problems and solving the issues where everyone was comfortable was a plus; also we as a shop would go to neighborhood elementary schools once a year doing the children's hair for free as a giving back task in the business of cosmetology and encouraging them on career day. I supervised the staff and work performance in the owners' absence.
