  • Compiling statistical HSE data for daily reports presented to the client.
  • The project includes excavation of 60,000 cubic yards of concrete kiln dust (CKD), consolidation of the material, re-contouring of the site, and installation of a new cover system.
  • The excavation plan required continuous dewatering and the construction of an on-site treatment facility, to avoid leachate flow into Lake Michigan.
  • A permanent cover was constructed consisting of 300,000 square feet of HDPE Liner, 25,000 tons of drainage aggregate, 10,000 tons select clay, and 60,000 tons of cover soils.
  • Approximately 1,200 linear feet of 8" water main and two fire hydrants were installed.
  • A new storm sewer system will be constructed consisting of HDPE and RCP pipe ranging from 6" to 30", with manholes ranging from 5-feet to 7-feet in diameter.
  • Approximately 2,000 linear feet of new asphalt road with parking areas were constructed as well as three leachate collection drain lines parallel to the shore of Lake Michigan.
  • These drain lines included 850 linear feet of double runs of 6" HDPE Perforated piping, and three lift stations excavated to a depth of 25 feet.
  • All drain lines were excavated 4-12 feet below bedrock.
  • Final seeding, limestone walking paths, and beach restoration was completed.
  • The site is utilized as a park and the entire project was being completed on an expedited basis to return the park to public use.
