Knowledgeable and skilled Registered Nurse with emergency department experience ranging from small single nurse ERs to Charge Nurse of a busy 22 bed ER as well as working as a travel nurse in a 60 bed teaching university hospital setting. I have extensive experience caring for both medical and trauma patients of all ages. Orientation and mentoring of new nurses has been an important part of my career.
This was a travel assignment through OR Nurses Nationwide. I worked as an emergency department RN in a 45 bed ER which sees patients of all ages with both medical and trauma-related complaints.
I worked at this large teaching hospital in a 60 bed emergency department as a travel nurse with OR Nurses Nationwide continuously for approximately 1.5 years. We rarely treated trauma patients as this facility is the cardio/neuro center for the region as well as the largest transplant facility in the region. The majority of patients treated at this facility are adult. The facility also sees a large number of psychiatric patients and has a great many homeless patients.
I started at this facility as a staff RN but within a few months I became Director of Nursing Service. I supervised staff of this small rural hospital for approximately 1 year before taking on the role of Hospital Administrator. During the time I was there we applied for a became designated as a critical access hospital. I was responsible for the daily operations and oversight of the critial access hospital, 3 clinics, a geropsych unit, and ambulance service for the county. I was responsible for development of policies and procedures and wrote CON applications for addition of services and beds. I participated in grant writing activities and well as the procurement of H1 Visas for physicians. I worked closely with the CFO developing financial strategies.
