Being a staff RN for the last 26 years at this same hospital has allowed me to learn all the many things that make up a good Nurse. I have been able to experience the intricate details of the many studies that are being done on an ever changing basis to the importance of old school hand holding with an array of different patients. I have worked through nursing as it has evolved from Doctors hand writing orders to a complex computer system . The entire profession of nursing has changed over the time I have spent in my career. this vast experience has allowed me to be comfortable with the many minute to minute changes that occur each day to the larger changes going on in The institution and Nursing itself. Being supportive to the young staff and more experienced staff and equally aware of the importance of the guidelines we follow as an institution are among my strengths. I am eager to join in on committees and discussions to advance the practice of Nursing and for myself as an RN. With all the many challenges in Nursing, I also believe that being a strong patient and staff or even institutional advocate is a strength that I find necessary. I am also eager to work together as team on the unit to improve the overall outcome of our patients. Having such a long career at the bedside has allowed me an enormous amount of experience to rely on and share with the people around me.
