While attached I was an outstanding performer in processing Forms 1023 and 1024, Applications for Recognition for Tax Exemption under Section 501(a) of the IRC and other related programs. I am diligent, detail-oriented and have experience that offers a solid understanding of legal and regulatory issues surrounding non-profit activities. This skill is transferrable. My background also includes the ability to review a large inventory of applications with speed and accuracy. A triage system was employed to categorize cases/application as approvals, those that require minimal or extensive development and those that don't warrant approval. Investigative skills include verifying the integrity of information within an application. I have years in using MS Office programs. I'm always willing to take additional courses to improve- software or anything else. I'm computer-savvy and quick learning. I'm comfortable with communicating with all levels of customers.
My personal attributes include being optimistic, enthusiastic and eager to contribute to team success through attention to detail and excellent organizational skills. I always utilize communication skills to achieve a clear understanding of the task at hand. I'm not intimidated by not knowing all the answers- and I know when to ask for assistance.
After 37 years of combined federal service I recently retired from the IRS. The initial 4 years I was enlisted in the US Coast Guard. I received a honorable discharge. My duty stations ranged from Boot Camp in Northern California, to a Small Boat Station in St. Ignace, MI and finally to the 3rd District Office in New York, NY. The remaining 33 years were with the Internal Revenue Service in Covington, KY and Downtown Cincinnati. I began at the GS-4 level and climbed to a GS-12 before retiring. After 18 months of retirement I'm ready to embark on a new career. Although my 3 children are grown, I was just recently made a grandfather! Therefore I need to enhance my estate by working again. I look forward to and thank you for the opportunity.
