Professional Summary
Highly motivated and ambitious Server with over 10 years of experience in different restaurant settings. I have tried other careers and different job settings but nothing compares to being a server. In my experience I get paid based on my abilities to take care of the guests and my abilities to upsell drinks and food to the customers in a way that isn’t being a salesman but being knowledgeable. My experience has shown me that if I can answer the questions the guests have and give them the best experience possible they will want to come back again and be more willing to take the suggestions I offer which makes more money for the restaurant and makes my tip percentage higher as well. Also being able to read a table and adjusting accordingly is also important because each table is unique and an experience tailored to each individual guest is going to provide a better experience but of course always making sure the standard for guests is met. I am passionate about working with people and it provides me with a livable income as well.

Work History
04/2020 to CurrentRestaurant ServerAccor Hotels | Boston, MA,
Started my work day with setting up my section so the guests would have a clean and efficient table setup and I would check specials and find out if we had any menu changes or if we didn’t have any items so I could take care of my guests properly.
Greeted new customers, discussed specials and took drink and appetizer orders at this time I would also answer any questions they might have or discuss some wine pairings.
When taking the guests order I would always attempt to upsell for instance if they wanted a pasta dish I would let them know they could add different meats to the dish and always offered dessert even if they couldn’t eat another bite I would offer it to take home for later.
Making sure the guests got the food as soon as it was put in the window so they got the meal the temperature it was supposed to be and also checking back with them to make sure everything is to their satisfaction.
Realizing each guest is unique and being able to give each guest the best experience for them and being able to change accordingly .
Putting orders into a point of sales system and printing the checks and making sure your guests get the correct check and when they leave they have had a great experience and cleaning and sanitizing your table for the next guest.

Planning schedules ahead of time so they could be gone over with the parents ahead of time and of course approved by the parents and also being flexible because sometimes the schedule just wasn’t possible to stick to or something comes up unexpectedly.
Having cpr training for children also knowing about chocking hazards and other hazards and how to avoid them.
Planning meals and snacks and making sure they are getting proper nutrients also staying up to date on age appropriate nutrition and most importantly making sure you are completely aware of any allergy they may have.

06/2015 to 02/2019Server/Bartender Paradies Lagardère Travel Retail | Wichita, KS,
As a server I was responsible for setting up my section, greeting the guests, taking orders, putting the orders in and delivering all drinks and food to the table.
Always making sure to offer new mixed drinks or wine pairings with an entree they chose and making sure they always had everything they needed and everything was to their satisfaction if the guest had any problems, complaints or even a suggestion you went straight to a manager and then did whatever you could to fix the problem.
As a server you were responsible for handling your customers cashing out so you had to make sure you always had enough money to make change and you had to be sure to give the right change and to keep money safe and organized.
Bartending was making sure you knew which guest came first if multiple guests came at once and also making sure to keep up with tabs and putting drinks in immediately also as a bartender you are expected to interact with the guests constantly and keep up with drinks and any food ordered.
There was no structure on seating and so you could fill up at anytime so your expected to be prepared at all times and always making sure your stocked and the bar is clean also it was important to make sure you are checking identification at all times and making sure all your tabs are getting paid at the bar people are more likely to forget to pay than anywhere else.
Most importantly as a server or bartender you had to serve alcohol responsibly and that means cutting a guest off when necessary and knowing that it’s not always a certain number of drinks and someone is cutoff it’s about picking up on the speech of the guests or other cues and also knowing how to do it with tact so as not to offend anyone.
