BLS, ACLS, worked in Observation as a part of the Emergency Department team. I am strong in all patient care. But I loved working with the newborns and their mothers. In Iowa I attended Cesarean sections where I was the assistant to the surgeon and take care of the baby after delivery. I also gave the first shots and first exams of all infants in my care. Our hospital had an on average 300 deliveries a month I worked full-time and enjoyed every minute of it. I also did couplet care helping lactating moms and making sure that baby was well fed and teaching moms the ends and outs of motherhood. I assisted the physicians in many Circumcisions. Ensuring baby's comfort and caring for the wound and teaching aftercare. I also enjoyed giving a sibling class that we offered and a car seat safety class that we offered to the parents before babies were born. I was a car seat safety technician and when parents were taking their precious one home I made sure they were in the car seat correctly for their safety. I participated in help parents prepare when adopting a baby and advising them on how to care for the newborn ensuring they were well prepared. Gave the a follow up phone call to all parents and assured them we we there for them 24-7 with any questions.
