KAMC Riyadh is a tertiary care teaching hospital with 1,500+ bed capacity and still expanding. It has passed the requirements for accreditation under the Joint Commission International Association (JCIA) International standards with “excellent performance” in December 2018.

• Develop and modify appropriate Respiratory Care Management Plan in consultation with treating physician with pulmonary diseases. Perform patient assessment and non-invasive monitoring and other non-invasive physiologic measurements. Monitor patient responses and modify therapies based on clinical/physiologic assessments and consultation with physicians. Document all patients' medical records clearly and concisely.
• Apply, manage and monitor under direction from Respiratory Therapist I or Supervisor, Respiratory Services all forms of invasive and non-invasive ventilation in consultation with treating physician.
• Modify ventilator management to meet patient needs, based on clinical assessment, physiologic monitoring. Ensure maintenance and safe operation of equipment. Comply with hospital's Infection Control and Safety Protocols.
• Read, evaluate and modify therapy/techniques based on clinical and laboratory data in consultation with the physician and Interpret basic EKG tracing and document clinical assessments.
• Assist with pulmonary diagnostic procedures (i.e., bronchoscopy, etc.) as necessary.
• Perform blood sampling for Blood Gases analysis via arterial puncture, initiates or modifies therapy appropriately as per established clinical practice guidelines or in consultation with treating physician, as well as A-Line Insertion if requested, the RT should certify depending on the ICU Policy.
• Perform all routine Respiratory Care modalities and procedures including but not limited to Chest physiotherapy/Bronchial hygiene Therapy (Percussion, Postural Drainage, etc.), Lung Expansion Therapies, and Provide Oxygen Therapy devices, as indicated.
• Perform advanced Airway Management and clearance for all patients in the service, in emergency and non-emergency situations, provision of effective bag-valve-mask ventilation during codes.
• Perform Advanced Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation as per the CPR Policy and CCRT guidelines.
• Provide continuing Respiratory Home Care, Long Term Care and Cardiopulmonary Rehabilitation.
• Perform Respiratory related diagnostics modalities and procedures such as Basic Pulmonary Function Testing, sleep Disorders Screening and Metabolic Studies as indicated by the treating physician.
• Assist and provide with the patient instruction on proper use of therapeutic modalities and techniques, conduct patients specialized education programs such as Smoking Cessation, Asthma Education, COPD education programs.
• Perform Tracheostomy Tube Care as needed and coordinate patient weaning and corking with the physicians.
• Comply with JCIA standards, infection control safety protocol sand ensure appropriate documentation is recorded in approved health information systems.
• Perform education and in-services to students and other health care providers on areas of expertise.
• Transport Critical, intubated and ventilated Neonatal, Pediatric and Adult patient based on the hospital policy.

• Administered medication and ventilatory support, including maintenance and management of life support systems.
