I am a strong advocate for families and children with disabilities. I take care of my son who has autism as well as my other son who has a learning disability. Before covid pandemic. I would volunteer in my children school to assist in field-trips, teach art class also known as art in action. I am currently learning and doing parent lead ABA therapy also known as applied behavioral analysis. For this reason I had to reduce my hours at work so that I can help provide better support for my child with disability. I recently got the position as vice president for our SEPAC also known as parent advisory council that communicate the needs of special needs children within our community and school district in South San Francisco. How to help parents navigate the school system with their children with special needs as well as find resources and better support parents.
