Professional Experience
Registered Nurse 10/2008 to 02/2012Consulate Health CareJacksonville , FL
I worked as a Pediatric Registered in the Pediatric Emergency room combined with twenty-three hour observations. I cared mainly for pediatrics ranging from infancy to seventeen years old. I cared for a maximum of 3 patients. Sometimes, I cared for adult patients. Responsibility included triage, history taking, head to toe assessments, and providing nursing treatment as per doctors order. My pediatrics, nursing skills, and experience improved greatly at this hospital. I became such a great team player that other staff members and doctors recognized my expert skills by consulting
Registered Nurse02/2008 to CurrentConsulate Health CarePensacola , FL I started working for Memorial Hermann as their float Registered Nurse through Premier Staffing. My initial role was an emergency room nurse. I worked at most of Memorial Hermann Facilities, including Sugar Land, South West, Katy, North West, and Memorial City. I provided emergency nursing care to adults/pediatrics, assisted during minor procedures, and code blues. I cared for a maximum of four patients. I cross-trained in Interventional Radiology in 2011 at South West Memorial Hospital. This was a great achievement that helped me to transition to Interventional Radiology at Memorial Hermann Texas Medical Center. The hospital at Medical center had a high turn over, so I went in to help during the crisis, in August 2013. Due to limited staff, we were working under a lot of stress and long hours. I did not receive formal training at this job, but I figured out most of my job requirements on my own. I have shown my commitment in teamwork, organization, and working in crisis by perseverance. When new management came, I oriented her about holding area and routine Radiology procedures. My manager created a new position, Ct Holding Area, which she offered to me. Personally, I have demonstrated that I am a good nurse because I was offered a position. Also, other staff members verbalize that they like working with me. Working at a trauma Level 1 hospital greatly increased my nursing skills and knowledge. Also, being around diverse patients has helped to strengthen my cultural competency and become a strong active listener and great communicator.

I was responsible for providing care for pediatric and adult patients in the Emergency room, including triage, history taking, head to toe assessments, nursing care interventions such as giving medications, peripheral intravenous placements, and participating in code blue. St. Christus hospital is the first hospital that I worked for in United States. I truly gained a lot of knowledge and skills about emergency nursing in USA at this hospital. I achieved good staff rapport and patient satisfaction as evidence by management persistently requesting me to stay after completing my contract. My manager, Ms. Taylor, verbally informed me that she was impressed with the way I performed my work. Working at a very busy hospital for almost a year with no complaints from patients is a good achievement of patient/nurse relationship.

This job was more like a Nurse Practitioner role. I provided care minor ailments care to hotel workers, and their immediate families. I managed triage, head to toe assessments, diagnosed, and prescribed and dispensed medications. I was responsible for two sister hospitals. I was involved in first aid or as a first responder in accidents, such as drowning, within the hotel premises, facilitated transfer of patients with complicated diseases to higher level of care, and ordering medications from Pharmaceutical companies, stocking, and packing medications ready for dispensing. Maintained and protected patient information files. I inspected the hotel, especially food services, once a month and provided report of my finding to management. There are so many things I achieved working at this clinic. My achievements include insurance billing, secretarial duties, such as answering the phone, insurance billing, and management skills. The respect I provided to each and every patient, was noticed by management, so they increased my salary from $40.000 Zimbabwe dollars to $60.000 in a bid to keep me at this job.
