Quality representative at HONDA assembly plant (Lincoln,AL). Act as the liaison between OEM Customer, Corporate Operations and Manufacturing Locations. Support on-site customer plants for quality issues and warranty claims. Responsible for investigating and correcting problems found by customer utilizing failure and root cause analysis. Initiate quality claims, containment and sorting activities at customer locations and throughout the pipeline. Request countermeasures in the manufacturing area and verifying its effectiveness. Attend to trials build events and meetings to improve the design of the new products until maturation. Collaborated with engineers and project managers regarding design parameters for client projects. Plan and coordinate incoming inspections for sample events, which could ensure product quality to obtain a reduction of 90% of claims for 2016 and 2017 models compared to past launches.
Responsible for handling external claims from tier customers, Yazaki Business Units and OEM customers. I was in charge of about 20 people (Quality Inspectors) distributed in about 16 production lines, and among my responsibilities was to create visual aids and inspection sequences to sort critical parts and performing periodical audits in order to keep updated FMEAs and PQCTs for mass production products and processes. Coordination of engineering changes, PPAP, APQP, study of harnesses drawings, process information for production department and implementation of improvements. A daily PPM report was done to follow repetitive defects and to establish countermeasures to eliminate them. I worked in the launching of three new families of products, tracking the quality assurance in all the trial activities in order to meet the customer requirements.
As Planner buyer, I was in charge of an average of 40 local, national, international and overseas suppliers. Generating Purchase Orders according to affiliate plants demand, and following them up until the final timely delivery of products. I established KPI's to measure the effectiveness of the expediting area and measure the efficiency of our suppliers' delivery time. Performed a demand and lead time analysis for materials, that made possible to reduce inventory costs, obsolete, extraordinary expenses and downtime in branch plants. I also developed the training plan for new employees in administrative and technical tasks and for those directly related to the ERP. At the warehouse area I made some improvements according to the 5'S and MOTO Policies.
