As a Quality Control / Senior Field Technician my responsibilities included
Manage, coordinate and control all welding, fabrication, inspection and robotic operations/ processing throughout the plant. administer comprehensive technical knowledge of all such tasks and responsibilities. Oversee the weld inspection / robotic department. Ensure that all team members have been trained and possess the necessary skills and abilities to perform the job duties in each of the (fit-up / dimensional, final weld, robotics, UT/NDT/Training/ Production, in-process/ active).
Help developed and implement a relevant weld training/ safety qualification program; ensure that all production welding personnel have the necessary skills to weld/ fabricate items according to print, whilst following appropriate weld procedures and achieving an acceptable level of quality.
Work closely and effectively communicate with supervisors regarding welding personnel and equipment needs. Ensure all welding, robotic and inspection equipment remains in like new operational condition via preventative maintenance in order to minimize production downtime. Research / test potential capital investments; make equipment recommendations to the purchasing manager/ VP.
Remain at the forefront of welding, robotic and inspection fields through professional development activities, networking with industry leaders, ongoing research, AWS journals, inspection trends, etc. Note: See attached for detailed description of job duties.
As a light wheeled mechanic I performed duties assigned at my skill level, supervising and providing technical guidance to lower grade Soldiers.
