While working as Code 700 safety representative I implement regulations from OSHA, SUBSAFE, TWDs, The Voluntary Protection Program (VPP), Non-nuclear Execution Process, and Employee safety hand book. Working closely with Lifting and Handling Division Heads and Zone managers I provide feedback from treading safety data using Humaan Factors Analysis Classification systems (HFACs), record mishaps, and SWARM all injuries. I recommend quality improvements to stop with repeat injury occurrence. As safety representative meet with all safety reps within the shipyard once a month adding input/ideas for safety. Developed Microsoft Excel spreed sheets to organize reports, supplies, and feedback. As safety representative I am responsible for tracking budget and purchasing safety supplies for all of Code 700 Lifting and Handling Department Crane/Rigging. Attending pre-job briefs to witness and /or provide quality assurance on waterfront following regulations from P-307, LHAPS, LHEI's, TWD's, and JPS. Providing recommendations for improvements in interactive discussions, making sure injuries that may occur relate to task given. Providing supervisors with safety grams to make sure a clear understanding is made with employees of what can hurt them and how they can prevent injuries. Advising supervisors to make sure employees have a questionable attitude so that injuries are as low as reasonably achievable. Working alongside Code 700's Continuous Training Department (CTD) supervisors and SMEs to provide each class with safety tips, giving and gaining feedback for water front safety, making sure employees understand what is expected of them when it comes to safety, and reiterating employees to have a questionable attitude. I developed a Safety Quality Assurance training course for all employees of the Crane/Rigging that covers all areas in accordance with OSHA, Employee Safety Hand book, VPP and NON-Nuclear Execution, all injuries of the for Fiscal year. Instructing employees on how to deal with hazards and hazmat with clear understanding MSDS in addition to utilizing sampling JPS, statistical technique, charts to prepare and present analysis results to all class participants. Review training materials and conducts of Shop Training supervisors in Code 700 on injury rapid responses (SWARM), Importance of safety meetings, and injury review, providing a list of bad behaviors and a list of actions to help change the behaviors of employees. As a safety representative I also work with Quality Assurance creating FAO metrics. As a safety representative I develop and revise audit plans, conduct investigate reports of injuries to identify responsible parties, root causes, and concrete corrective actions, develop quality assessments, providing staff reports to Crane and Rigging Shop Director. Paying close attention to detail preparing clear informative mishap reports while conducting effective interviews.
