Over the course of my professional career I have acquired a varied set of skills that I believe would prove beneficial to your organization and the position for which I am applying. Positions I have held previously that would be of benefit include: 1)Human Resources Manager 2)Program Director and 3) Youth Counselor/Therapist.
As a Human Resources Manager I focused on the creation and development of a Human Resource Department within two different companies, one a human service organization and the other a property management company. I was able to create efficient HR processes using knowledge of recruiting, employee relations, training and development.
In my role as a Program Director, I worked in a collaborative effort with other agencies to provide alcohol and drug prevention training and materials to varied populations throughout Western South Dakota. This required strong leadership skills, communication skills and an ability to organize activities on both small and large scales. I also gained experience in budget oversight, fundraising, grant writing, marketing and public speaking.
My positions as a Youth Counselor/Therapist provided the opportunity to work with troubled youth in residential treatment settings. Over the course of nearly 10 years, I worked with youth ages 3 to 18 that exhibited a variety of physical,emotional, and behavioral difficulties. Many of those served were victims of abuse.
