Strong communication and cross cultural skills: Assessed community needs, identified opportunities, developed projects to meet those needs and combat poverty. Monitored and evaluated 3 major projects, ensuring goals and objectives were met before their deadline.
  • Projects included: ( improved mud stoves, community gardens and coalition building). Detail oriented with strong organizational skills: Implemented technical trainings with 8 local farmers on a weekly basis as a result increasing crop productivity by 30%. Obtained and managed a $2,500 grant from USAID, with which she created, directed and oversaw an Agricultural Cooperative of farmers from the 7 surrounding districts of her region. Obtained and managed a $2,000 grant for a Feed the Future project (USAID), with which she designed, directed, monitored and evaluated a large scale irrigation project for a 4 acre farm. Participated in regular field visits to local farms where she identified problems and with the farmer's participation solved them. Organized 26 community members and conducted a 2 week training to promote reforestation.The project resulted in the community planting over 3000 trees.
  • Organized several HIV/AIDS awareness events, reaching 200 to 250 people from the surrounding villages. Events provided youth in the community with the opportunity to get a free HIV test.
