Division G2 Intelligence Directorate senior leader responsible for the timely, relevant, accurate and predictive intelligence for the Commanding General, 101st Airborne Division/Combined Joint Task Force 101 while deployed to Regional Command East, Operation Enduring Freedom theater in Afghanistan. Responsible to lead and supervise 185 military and civilian intelligence officers and analysts in 11 different sections of the various intelligence disciplines. Responsible for the accurate and timely publication of multiple daily intelligence reports, including a section in the President's Daily Briefing. Devised, developed and activated the "Inter-Agency" concept by integrating national civilian intelligence agency analysts into the organization. Coordinated and synchronized intelligence efforts with Special Operations Forces in Afghanistan and the entire Southwest Asia region.
Provided detailed intelligence Briefings to the U.S. President, Vice President, Secretaries of Defense and the Army, Secretary of State and over two dozen Congressional Delegations including the Speaker of the House, when they visited our headquarters on Bagram Airfield. Traveled extensively to Forward Operating Bases and Combat Outposts to acquire first-hand knowledge on the enemy and terrain. Briefed the US Ambassadors to both Afghanistan and Pakistan while serving as a member of the Afghan-Pakistan-NATO Tripartite investigation into a border incident involving the Pakistan military.
Senior Intelligence Officer for a 6,000 Soldier Brigade deployed to Operation Iraqi Freedom. Supervised and led 22 Soldiers and 4 civilians in providing timely, accurate and relevant intelligence about the enemy, weather and terrain to the Brigade Commander and six subordinate battalions. Responsible for transforming the Brigade S2 shop from the antiquated Air-Land Battle doctrine to the new Modular Combat Brigade Team concept, which included enhanced, secure satellite communications, digital topography and mapping capabilities and Unmanned Ariel Systems.
Successfully completed a 15 month combat deployment to Iraq; traveled to Washington DC to assist the Brigade Commander in briefing the Chairman of the House Armed Services Committee and Chairman of the Senate Select Committee on Intelligence regarding our successes in combat. Awarded a Bronze Star Medal.
