With over 25 years of experience in the petrochemical and manufacturing industry, I understand what it takes to be successful in this field. I started out working as a technician at a small catalyst company unloading and loading reactors throughout the U.S. gaining numerous skills along the way which led to my promotion of supervisor. In January of 2007, I started working for Catalyst Handling Resources as a superintendent. There, I oversaw all aspects of catalyst loading and unloading. For 9 years, I worked at the BP Whiting refinery on the operations side. Initially an operator, I worked my way up to shift supervisor making sure that my units ran safe and efficiently. I helped with shutting down and starting up numerous units for TAR, working with the team to make sure procedures and isolation plans were implemented correctly. Additionally, I assisted with timelines and worklists to ensure they were followed properly. In the spring of 2018, I left BP to return to Catalyst Handling Resources. I was in charge of the acid division operations and a project manager in charge of all aspects of turnarounds. When the pandemic hit in the spring of 2020, my company had to downsize. Unfortunately, I lost my job due to this. Currently, I work for Shell as a Production Team lead.
