Ambitious student pursuing a Forensic Psychology BA degree eager to contribute developed knowledge in any psychology related internship to gain more experiences. I am analytical and intellectual when it comes to psychology since it is my passion. I am skilled in analyzing people and their behaviors and have great communication skills in psychological settings. I am adaptable and driven with strong work ethic and ability to thrive in team-based or individually motivated settings.
As a person who wants to become a forensic psychologist, being an adapt peer mediator I have gained a well rounded background in strong communication skills, problem solving skills, and negotiating and/or compromising skills between two or more parties as well as the ability to maintain objectivity. My past experiences taught me how to be an outstanding listener and communicator by placing me in situations where I had to shift my communication style depending on the circumstances and the person I am speaking with, and have the best listening skills as people tend to change their stories or select certain word choices that reveal a lot about their personality, feelings, and intentions. By maintaining objectivity I mean that I know how to separate my personal beliefs and life from professional settings which assures me that my performance will not be affected as long as I do not form any emotional attachments with people I am working with. Another great skill I adapted working as a peer mediator that would boost me in my forensic psychology career is my attention to detail. I learned to take everything into consideration, verbal and non verbal behaviors. The person's body language matters just as much as what comes out their mouths. Finally, while I know how to keep my emotions at bay, I also know how to be compassionate with people I'm working with. I will ensure that my clients feel safe sharing their stories with me knowing that I will provide all the help I can. I will also ensure that my clients feel that they deserve to have their voices heard and not fear speaking up. Hiring me will set the seal on efficient work. I look forward to hearing from you and how together can create a safe space for those in need of someone in the field of psychology!
Some of the skills I learned from peer mediating are but not limited to the following:
I have done freelance tutoring for about 3 years, tutoring students from kindergarten to eighth grade. I tutor English, foreign language (Spanish), math, science (except for chemistry and physics), and history. From my experiences I have done the following:
