I will be graduating May 1st, 2021 with my Bachelors of Science in Nursing. I am interested in a career in a critical care field. I am currently employed in the Emergency Department at the University of Missouri Hospital for the past two years as a Patient Care Technician, EMT-B. It has allowed me to grow and develop my skills along with nursing school and clinical experiences. I enjoy the fast pace and perform well under pressure, and developed communication skills with coworkers, patients, and patient family members. I have had experience with therapeutic communication with our psychiatric patients, using active listening and deescalation tactics. I have participated on teams with traumas and codes with responsibilities ranging from recorder, compression relief, runner to grab extra supplies, and transporting the patient in from the helicopter landing to the trauma bay.
