Through my summer job working experiences, I have developed a good work ethic, teamwork skills, and effective time management and communication skills. My prep school and first-year college education have given me the knowledge to be successful in a stressful and advanced academic environment. I found interest in my business and environmental studies courses in my freshman year, and look to continue taking more of these courses in my upcoming sophomore year. Beyond my education and summer working experiences, I have been able to balance my athletics and passions with my academic success. I am a member of the Men's Soccer Team at Skidmore College. I also am passionate about art, and value fitness as an important aspect of my day-to-day life. I live in Andover, NH, and have a twin brother and a younger sister. I love to be running outside with my two dogs, and playing soccer in the summer and skiing and skating with friends in the winter. I am a visual learner and am successful working in both a team and individual environment.
Working as an Assistant Painter for Matt Burch, a self-employed professional painter based in New London, NH. I worked closely with Matt as an assistant painter throughout the summer months. I prepared surfaces by scraping and sanding. I painted various surfaces with primer and first and second coats, along with stain for wood, in order to meet project deadlines. I also climbed and carried ladders and scaffolds in order to reach work areas up to 50 feet high. I was responsible for cleaning up after job completion such as cleaning paint brushes and disposing of paint, buckets, and other materials. I collaborated with other team members to form strong relationships and be efficient in meeting various project deadlines.
Working as a Dish Machine Operator/Food Preparation Worker at the Inn at Pleasant Lake, I was tasked with maintaining a well-organized kitchen and helping with the preparations of food. I efficiently loaded and unloaded dishwashers, washing by hand any large pots and items that our head chef needed consistently. I was also responsible for returning each item back to its designated location within the kitchen. I developed great relationships with fellow employees and was able to work my way into food preparation where I prepped salads and desserts for consumers.
Implemented regular landscaping schedule to promote optimal growth and maintain the attractive appearance of lawns and facility groundling with performing other important tasks aimed at increasing production efficiency. I worked with team members, many who did not speak English, to solve machine repair, and meet strict deadlines successfully. I also operating and maintained basic landscaping equipment such as driving four-wheelers, trucks, and weed-whackers. I met consumer needs by delivering and loading products on time and worked collaboratively with team members to achieve our orders.
As a Field Crew Member at Spring Ledge Farm, I was responsible for maintaining the health and quantity of vegetables, flowers, and plants. This included weeding, fertilizing, picking, and trimming different products to be in the best state possible before being sold to the community. I worked collaboratively with 7 other crew members, performing tasks, and solving issues that were presented to the farm.
