I am currently a Terminal Operator with Intercontinental Terminals Company located in Pasadena,TX. In just a few short years in the industry, I have advanced from a contracted Dock Operator to now a level 4 Terminal Operator exercising and overseeing daily operations such as transfers, loads, unloads, switching, customer activity, railcar and tank truck operations, transfer lineups, tank gauging, process vapor relief systems and much more.

  • · Certified forklift, confined space, stage II CIMA first responder and currently possess a valid TX driver’s license and TWIC card.

  • Performs valve lineups, switch and tank changes as required to move petroleum products in and out of storage tanks.

  • · Inspection/proving of equipment such as sampling instruments, gauging devices, hose slings, pressure gauges, land system meters and perform necessary troubleshooting techniques.
  • · Communicate with inspectors, tankermen, vessel/marine transport personnel, and other operations personnel to promote smooth execution of transfers.

As a Terminal Operator Pumper, I am responsible for overseeing product transfer operations at rail racks, truck racks and marine docks where ships and barges are loaded or unloaded. My main objective is to make sure all tanks and gauges are prepared for each transfer and lineups are verified prior to transfer commencing.

My role as a Terminal Operator requires familiarity with tank line ups, manual and automated valves, pressure gauges, actuators, vapor control systems such as vapor spools, scully systems, line pigging, hose testing, line pressing, loading arm, maintenance, SCADA systems, flares and thermal oxidizers, also switching railcars, operating pumps, gauging cargo tanks and much more as part of my daily tasks.
