As a nursing student, the University that I attended allowed nursing students to experience nursing clinicals as early as first semester.

-First semester clinicals included visiting our local nursing homes

-Second semester we completed clinicals in our local hospital and participated on the medical surgical floor a long with the pediatric wing that is combined with it.

-Third semester we were able to experience clinicals not only at our original hospital RMCH, we were also given the opportunity to work at out local Indian Medical center, assisted living facilities, and family practice college clinic.

-Fourth semester we revisited our previous clinical floors, but we were also given the opportunity to experience the oncology clinic, dialysis clinic, ICU at GIMC, UNM-H mental health facility, labor and delivery, operation room, and home health.
