NREMT-Paramedic and volunteer firefighter with a combined four years experience in emergency services as well as two years of industrial experience seeking career as an ES&S Technician at your facility. I have also worked for Law Enforcement as a correctional officer part-time while obtaining my education as a paramedic that I feel could be of benefit from this Job Description. I am currently serving as a full-time Paramedic for a Private Ambulance service as well as volunteering for my local fire department as a Firefighter/Paramedic. I have also in the past worked full time for two years as both a Laborer and NCCER certified Pipefitter in the petroleum and fertilizer industry and do currently hold a TWIC card. I am a hard worker who strives to further my education and training to refine my skills to both comply with and exceed my Job requirements. I was initially hired a Full-time NREMT-Basic while continuing my education to the Paramedic level. I am currently working at the Paramedic level where daily I work with a partner on the street performing Patient care and medical procedures including administration of medications. I am also in charge of managing my EMT-Basic partner as he assists with patient care as well as working alongside the local fire departments to ensure proper and efficient patient care. While working here I was able to work in the field alongside the clean-up team for the BP oil spill cleanup in Cocodrie, LA where I ensured the safety of those working to clean up the spill. Also while working here I was awarded the Meritorious Achievement Award for going above and beyond the call of duty on a mass casualty incident and I serve as a member of the Safety Committee.
Here I started as a Firefighter and First Responder and quickly worked my was up to the Firefighter/Paramedic level. Over my years of service I have both participated in and conducted both medical and fire/rescue Drills and classes to continue both my education and training level as well as the education and training level of others. I have served as a firefighter/Paramedic on Multiple fire and rescue calls where I was a vital member of the team in providing patient care and protecting the personal property of others. I also have a background in NIMS training, Extrication Training, HAZMAT awareness, and I have completed a NFPA 1403 class while serving with my fire department.
Here I worked as a laborer maintaining safety equipment, working in a warehouse managing the incoming and outgoing supplies, and assisting in multiple maintenance jobs. The job was a summer help program for the company my dad was employed with for employees kids to obtain working experience while preparing to start their careers.
Here I functioned as a part-time correctional officer working 40-50 hours a week while attending school full-time to become a paramedic. While at APDC, in just a few short months I was operating as a shift Sergeant in the absence of the full-time shift sergeant because I was the only member of that shift that knew how to work that position of management. Here I oversaw the daily activity and movement of over 100 inmates at any time as well as 5 staff members of my shift.
Here I worked as a Laborer while attending ABC school in Baton Rouge to obtain my NCCER certification in Pipefitting. After Obtaining my certification, I worked as a pipefitter for TurnersProject Crew at Motiva in Convent.
