First I would like to thank your for taking time to read my resume. My work history is with livestock handling and machinery operation. I am able to handle cattle and horses with extreme efficiency. I can operate a multitude of machinery including; tractors, skid steers, loaders, back hoes, feed trucks, ATVs, fork lifts and a much more. I learn very quickly and am physically fit to do heavy lifting and labor tasks. I am currently employed with Five Rivers Cattle Feeding. I enjoy this job tremendously; however, I have to explore new opportunities that will offer hours that fit more effectively around my school schedule. I am working on my AS at Aims Community College in Greeley, CO with full intentions of continuing on to a MS in Animal Science at CSU. I would like to find a job with hours between 4:00pm and 12:00am. I am willing to work outside of the agricultural industry and it is my belief that agricultural trained employees make the best employees in any industry. This is because of the tremendous amount of dedication and perseverance that a job in agriculture teaches.
My academic accomplishments are; Carolus Linnaeus Biology award in High School Biology, Teacher's Aide in High School Chemistry, Creative Writing Award in High School, highest grade in Microbiology in at Aims and straight A's last semester. My accomplishments at work are in my everyday performance. I work the night shift at the Five Rivers; Kuner Feedlot between 6:00pm and 6:00am. There is only myself and my partner (whom I trained and instruct) during our twelve hour shift. In order to be productive with absolutely no supervision I must use a flawless execution of time management and self-control. I am entirely responsible for 90,000 head of cattle and millions of dollars worth of machinery and valuables. In order to ensure that all expectations are met by morning and that the feedlot is running at maximum efficiency I must be adaptable and take charge of every situation. I believe that being thrust into such a large amount of responsibility has made me second to none when it comes to "taking care of business".
My duties at Five Rivers; Kuner Feedlot include; unloading cattle, weighing cattle, penning cattle, rounding up stray cattle, fixing water tanks, calling feed bunks, running and repairing the sprinkler irrigation, bringing silage with a loader and tractor to the feed mill, monitoring the property for security and monitoring the feedlot for any mishaps and acting accordingly. This job requires vigorous adaptability and constant self-discipline.
During my time with Clapsaddle I would clean stalls, feed, run machinery and learned a lot about training from the trainer Kim Elsner. I would assist by ponying colts and work with roping off of inexperienced horses.
I was responsible for tractor and machinery operation here. I also learned a little about pipe irrigation.
My duties here were to move cars with a fork lift for customers or to drain liquids before scrapping. I also learned a fair amount of automotive maintenance while working here.
My strengths in high school and still today are in problem solving and thus math (geometry specifically) and science (biology primarily) were my strongest subjects. I received and award for creative writing as well; however, most of my awards were in science.
I have been going to Aims part time since 2010. I am nearly completed with my AS with one semester left after this current one. I take my education very seriously and although it's taken me a while to finish I place my education at the heart of my accomplishments. I absolutely must have a job that is able to accommodate my school schedule and that is why I am currently seeking new employment. Among my accomplishments are, having the highest grade in Microbiology and having A grades in 200 level classes. I was the Vice President of the Aims Anthropological Association my freshmen year.
