At an early age, while attending church, I became interested in playing the piano. At first, I began playing by ear, but by the age of ten, I began to want seriously to learn to play proficeinetly. I was self-taught for a while and later was able to take lessons. In high school, I was fortunate to be the chorus accompanist for the high school and middle school. I played for all concerts, rehearsals, etc. At present, as a music student at Valdosta State University, I have enjoyed studying and further developing my skills by taking private piano and voice lessons along with participating in the Chamber Singers, the most prestigious singing group on campus. In the absence of college choir accompanists, I am often asked to substitute. I am the director of choirs at my present church and also accompany that group. Growing up in the church I am aware the major contribution music can offer to a service. I continuously strive to make each service worshipful and meaningful to the congregation. As a Christian, I have always felt that my talent is a gift from God. It has been a wonderful opportunity and my pleasure to use this talent by serving several churches. It is my hope that my music is a blessing to all those who hear it.
