In October 2020 I went to Seaside Palm Beach Rehab Facility for alcohol addiction. At this time I was struggling with myself, abstinence from alcohol, family and unfortunately my relationship with my husband. At Seaside I was able to stay clean, reinforce my strength to keep fighting the good fight. During this time I was able to detox and focus on all aspects of my life and put myself first above all. I worked daily with a group of like minded people to develop not only mental health issues and alcohol dependency. The holistic rehab approach at Seaside Palm Beach offered pride and wellness that I have not had in years. Not only all the great things I have mentioned we were able to visit the beach and just see all the greatness that God has created. Once I completed my stay at Seaside I was flown back to Nashville the home of country music and very near my home place. I was embraced by the full staff of people at NRC and I could begin to see my life in recovery. I have completed morning and afternoon check in with all inpatient clients to discuss our day. Clinical services were provided daily for IOP and PHP for eight weeks where I worked directly with my therapist and team members. I daily focus on self, community, AA meeting via zoom, for in person and follow the 12 step and AA big book. At this time I found that I was very co-dependent and was in drastic need to set boundaries and alcohol dependency was going to kill me. I received a certificate of achievement. During this time my husband filed for divorce from 32 year marriage and I was working the program not only for alcohol but also losing my marriage. At this time I decided I wanted to stay in sober living until the divorce was final or a total of one year to make sure I was with like minded people and had accountability to myself. I am happy to say that July 5, 2021 I will be sober for 9 months. Being in addiction has shown me that this disease is very chronic and can happen to anyone. I wanted to give back for all the help I was given so I sought a position of employment with NRC. I was given the TRC office manager manager and love seeing the new faces daily that are going to IOP and PHP and seeing their lives changed. I continue daily to use the 12 & 12 Steps, Big Book, AA meetings, my sponsor and serve in my community. I started working as the office manager on May 3, 2021 and look forward to seeing how God can work through me to better serve those that are fighting the fight against any forms of addiction. I will be forever grateful for NRC for helping in my journey free of addiction.
