Seeking Mathematics and Actuarial Science internship or co-ops for summer 2020 and fall 2020
I am working on the Snow Plow project for Warren, OH. The system and method of plowing the snow at Warren have not been changed for 40 years. I am working to make a math model that will help to find the shortest path for plowing the snow at warren. For this math modeling project, I am using ArcGIS Pro, Dijkstra Algorithm and graph theory knowledge.
When we are planning our road trip, we will eagerly be mapping out routes, booking accommodation, noting the most see-sight and drop-in diners, but quickly the conversation will turn to whose care we going to take. Should we use our own car or find a company that provides rental cars for a road trip.
My project address many factors that we need to consider before renting a car. Sometimes, our cost depends on the number of days, the car rented and different other cost-related factors. In my model, I calculated the cost of the rented cars and driving own car. For calculating the cost, I tested three different cars of two different companies. Also, my project shows the model and different mathematical calculations for calculating the cost associated with driving.
This project aims to analyze the statistics related to the expenses of college students at YSU hypothesizing that the cost of attending is lower than the figure mentioned on the website. Proving the hypotheses proceeds with an online survey from a class of currently attending students who exercise the practice of minimizing cost. The survey was passed on to the students through social media and mass emailing. In order to include all those hidden expenses, the expenses were categorized into housing, food, books and supplies, personal, transportation, and school activities expenses. Then, the obtained data were recorded in a table followed by a calculation of various measurements of center tendency. The data consisted of the expenditure of the students on different categories in a month. The mean of the observed was then compared against the website suggested value with the treatment of the chi-square goodness of fit test to reach a conclusion. After analysis, the number of actual college expenses was discovered to be indeed less than that mentioned by the university.
Hence my study suggested that it is indeed possible to save a great deal of money by managing the expenditure wisely during the course of college life.
My project is based on an analysis of off-campus housing for international students at Youngstown. Many international students at Youngstown State University prefer to stay off-campus because it is quite expensive to afford on-campus housing. The analysis helps to make amendments in the I-20 ( acceptance letter ) of international students so that international students can know about their actual expenditure being at YSU and at Youngstown.
• Purchased and collect the materials for the project
• Made a Robotic claw machine with two different challenges
• Prepared technical memo and several presentations
Analyze the dragons from a different perspective and determined the characteristics, both mathematically and descriptively, of dragons which will make them viable to survive in the world today.
The project gives the logistics and details for the recycled designed car. The purpose is to show what data we acquired and how the vehicle is designed. It will also contain the materials used to make the car and how well it performed compared to other teams. The recycled car is apart of the Recycled Vehicle Design Project. The goals of this project are to create a car out of recycled materials and using the 3D model.
different other cost-related factors. In my model, I calculated the cost of the rented cars and driving own car. For calculating the cost, I tested three different cars of two different companies. Also, my project shows the model and different mathematical calculations for calculating the cost associated with driving.
