  • Planned, organized and directed the Non-Occupational and Occupational Process including Workers' Compensation, Supplemental WC, Accident & Sickness, Medical and Pension Benefits in accordance with all federal, state and local regulations for a union plant with approximately 1,400 associates. This process includes employee benefits administration; monthly SOX reconciliation; timely filing of all WC claims investigations and state related forms; actively participate and coordinate quarterly Claims Reviews; annual Settlement Conferences and travel to the corporate office in Akron, Ohio and other plants in the United States as needed.
  • Managed the staff of third-party contractors including 6 nurses at the onsite clinic, a nurse practitioner, company physician, 3 physical therapists, FMLA Coordinator, EAP Counselor as well as outside case managers with Corvel, Genex, Liberty Mutual claims adjusters and MetLife representatives.
  • Participated in the litigation process by collaborating with 4 company attorneys; worked with Private Investigators when surveillance was needed; attended Mediations, Depositions and Trials as needed to help ensure a successful legal outcome.
  • Worked closely with the Goodyear Associate Service Center (Alight) to direct and coordinate various benefit programs including annual enrollment for hourly (union) and salary (non-union) employees; 401K, medical, dental and vision packages. Act as Coordinator for annual Biometrics Event.
  • Implemented a successful Return To Work process for workers' compensation associates by pairing light duty restrictions with meaningful jobs resulting in a $700K labor credit in just 3 years. Total number of associates out of work receiving TTD benefits decreased from 32 to 3.
  • Reduced "repeat" injuries by 25% by launching a new PT Outreach Program which focuses on cumulative trauma injuries.
  • Implemented the first Non-Occupational Management Process including Accident & Sickness pay, disability management and FMLA . This program was successfully piloted at the Gadsden plant resulting in a decrease of 33% in absenteeism in the first year.
