As a charge nurse I am responsible for maintaining the physicians plan of care, direct patient care, assessing for changes in status, overseeing CNA's to ensure that all patient needs are met. Assisted patients with healing and recovery after surgery. Perform all tasks with a patient-centered focus while seeking opportunities for improvement of processes and treatments. Provide behavioral/emotional support and supervision for those with dementia and Alzheimer's. Assist patients with multiple chronic diagnoses including COPD, and asthma, as well as CHF. Evaluate patient care needs, prioritize treatment and maintain patient flow. Coordinate with physicians and registered nurses to develop care plans for patients. Test glucose and administer injections. maintain patient charts and confidential files. IV Therapy, set up and monitoring.
