I served in skilled care most recently . I have also held positions as midnight shift supervisor, wound care nurse manager, and Alzheimer's dementia care floor nurse over my 12 yrs at this job. This was all in a geriatric nursing setting.
This was my first yr of nursing in the med/surg unit of a hospital. I was under supervision of an RN. I took care of direct admits from the ER and many post op patients. All admissions, shift assessments, and meds where documented electronically. I was fully responsible for ADLs,meds, assessments, and any other tasks with in my scope of practice for my patients each shift. I handled wounds, wound vacs, chest tubes, IV fluids, Peripheral IV insertions, trachs, jp drains, feeding tubes, NG tubes, I&O, foley care, PCA pumps, and ostomy care. These where many of the skills I learned my first yr of nursing.
I performed ADL care for my patients, I&O, Vitals, washing, feeding, weights, ostomy care, foley care, and comforting of my patients. As a unit clerk I sheeted charts, called in consolations, ordered supplies, set up charts and kardexs for admissions, took care of physician orders for the RN to sign off on, and answer phone calls. All jobs where performed on the skilled nursing floor for rehab patients in acute care.
This was a group home setting for the mentally challenged. Here I cooked, cleaned, washed, dressed, passed meds ( passed a med cert for passing meds in a group home) , drove resident to day program, and took them out for activities around town. This job is where I found my passion for caring for others and decided to go to nursing school. There is a gap in employment where i took time off to focus on school work in my nursing program.
I recently became an LPN in AZ but come with nearly 14 yrs nursing experience
I am CPR certified thru 2/22
I am covid 19 vaccinated
I am new to PHX and am looking for my next career LPN position on a nursing staff team who values their employees !
