Broadcast Announcing learn what goes on in the world of broadcast and broadcast production. similar to TV production. Take part in exercises which include voice overs, public address announcements or press conference, broadcasting sports clips, and QVC\'s (Quality, Value Convenience)
Media Law and Ethics Discuss what legal considerations and ethical dilemmas journalists deal with on a day to day basis. We discuss important media cases in the past and we write briefs about cases
Sport Media. Discuss what sports writers cover and what the experience is like for sports writers who cover a sport and sports team. How to be unbiased and what it is like to interview coaches, and players. We write reviews on famous sports stories, write a story on a sports figure, write a summary of a game, and cover our own sporting event where we interview players, coaches, trainers, which turns into a story we write about.
Public Relations Event Planning and Crisis Communication We learn about how companies deal with crises within their companies and how to repair the situation and repair their image in the eyes of the customers and public. Our class wads responsible for coordinating the "Stac the Deck" event held at the college to learn about students who have earned amazing internships. This included getting donations from local businesses for our raffle prizes, writing donation letters and thankyou letters, as well as flyers and brief biographies of the speakers at the event. This class was a real hands on learning experience.
