While my English teaching experience is limited to informal lessons to friends, I have been a teacher of the language of music for many years. I've found a lot of carryover from learning music theory and technique in my own studies of the Japanese language, specifically when developing muscle memory needed for proper pronunciation and with memorization techniques. I bring a unique perspective but I'm also ready to learn time-tested methods to empower students to meet their goals.

January 2014-April 2015Line Cook | Santouka Ramen | Arlington Heights, IllinoisFor one year I worked as a restaurant line cook under chef Chikara Nagano. I wanted to work here as a way to improve my Japanese language skills and get experience working for a Japanese company.
January 2013-CurrentShipping and Receiving/Truck Driver | Fabbri Sausage Mfg. | Chicago, IllinoisMy duties include: picking orders to be shipped, helping wholesale and retail customers, organizing and cleaning warehouse and dock areas, training/managing warehouse assistants, making deliveries and picking up various wholesale products, working on the manufacturing line, and various administrative duties.
September 2009-November 2011Music Reviewer | Music Dealers | Chicago, IllinoisMy main duties as a Reviewer were to use various descriptive tags to create a searchable database of music that had been submitted to the company. The interesting part of our work was defining as narrowly as we could our genre names and adjectives to make an efficient, usable search engine.
January 2005-CurrentMusician, Music Teacher, Audio Engineer, Producer | Self employed | Wood Dale, IllinoisI've been freelancing as a music teacher(drums and guitar) for a long time now. Many of my students continued their studies with me for years and had rewarding experiences under my tutelage. I also have had a home studio and produce recordings for various clients and friends. In addition to technical skill, producing is a unique balance between creativity, psychology and managing time/resources to complete a complex project.
