Very personable and dedicated worker. A people pleaser that wants to get the job done. I love working and building relationships with people. Team player with a positive attitude. There isn't much that I don't want to learn, and/or get better at.
As a lifeguard I am currently CPR and BSS certified. Also, as a lifeguard I am actively watching pools, giving swim exams, testing chemicals, using customer service skills with members, and now with current conditions we are cleaning constantly. I am also randomly audited by other YMCAs for my life saving skills; in and out of the water.
As a swim instructor I teach kids from ages one to 8 (sometimes older) how to swim. I have had classes up to six students, but sometimes it will just be one on one. Becoming an instructor has bettered my love for children, but has also taught me how to properly handle, and communicate with their parents; and how to have a good relationship with them. Teaching swim lessons has been very rewarding.
At Deepwell Athletics, I am able to watch children who's parents are working out. Although I am not there very often, I love my time there. This is another opportunity to build relationships with children, their parents, and the Mooresville CrossFit community (that I used to be apart of).
At Dicks I was a Cashier, Apparel Associate, and also a Brand Ambassador for their brand Second Skin. This was my first job outside of babysitting and dogsitting. I was able to actively use my customer service skills I had, and build upon what I already knew. As a Cashier, I used communication skills with not only customers, but my fellow associates. I had to learn and use their policies, but do so in a way that was helpful to the customer. As a Apparel Associate, I kept the apparel section (2/3 of the store) clean and orderly. I handled apparels returns, online calls, customer questions, helping cashiers with pricing, putting up sales information, and also unloading trucks. Unloading trucks involved unloading everything with the help of other associates, then organizing boxes based on section of store, unboxing everything, and organizing while putting sensor tags on.
Also while I was at Dicks, I was picked to become an Ambassador for their brand Second Skin. While an ambassador, I got free items in return for talking to customers about the brand, and advertising in store for them.
Being a cashier at Walmart was a huge learning experience. This is when I really had to use, and learn more customer service skills. At Walmart I did many different things, although my title was Cashier/Self Checkout clerk. At Walmart I was a cashier, watched self check out, unloaded trucks and stocked merchandise, and trained to be a Customer Service Manager.
As a cashier, I didn't just bag groceries. It took some computer skills to be able to change prices, run checks, fix, or put in coupons, etc. I also dealt with sometimes large amounts of money. This is where my customer service skills came in to play. You deal with every type of person there, and it is important to help them based on their personality.
As a Self Checkout Clerk, I also needed customer service skills. At this position you also help customers, but you also actively watch for stealing. It happens a lot.
Training for Customer Service Manager taught me a lot. During my training a dealt a lot with the cash office. I was able to help manage the associates that were on the schedule with me. It helped me learn more about Customer Service, and their computer systems.
I am currently (not often anymore) a nanny for a family. That is something I really love doing. I have been a on and off volunteer in church every since I was a teenager.
